Parador de Cáceres

The Parador de Cáceres occupies an imposing 14th century palace. The old Torreorgaz Palace built on Arab foundations, has an architrave door and Baroque coat of arms in the heart of the historic art of this city declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Founded by Diego Garcia de Ulloa, knight of the Order of Santiago, the Hotel, built in the XIV century, is presided by its sleek tower. Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque are the styles of building and the beautiful environment that enriches the Parador like the monumental church, palaces and noble homes.

All guest-rooms are spacious and bright, decorated with period furnishings. A few rooms are enriched by frescoes and exposed beams that give the hotel a romantic touch. The “Alcuéscar Commander” room is the largest of the hotel, with bathroom with a tub and a large living room with fireplace. Its balconies lets guests enjoy a great view of the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Mountains (patron saint) and the gardens of the Parador.

In the restaurant the dishes worth tasting are the ones that best represent the varied cuisine of Extremadura such as Iberian sirloin, oven roasted goat with rosemary, the Cáceres hake, Mozarabic frog's legs, shoulder of roast lamb with French fries and roast piglet.

Nearby tourist attractions include the Scenic Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Mountain of Caceres, the Museum of Modern Art VostellMalpartida de Cáceres (15km). The region also offers opportunities for golf, horseback riding, mountain biking and hot air ballooning.
