Parador de Sos del Rey Católico

In the northern region of the Five Cities, at 122 km from Saragoza and 58 from Pamplona, the Parador de Sos del Rey Católico is located at the end of the medieval walls of this village declared national and historic-artistic village.

With a noble Aragonese character, the hotel still preserves that monumental catholic atmosphere that has given influential nobles and to the catholic king Ferdinand II, an appropriate place to discover this medieval city and close to other places of great natural beauty.

The inside, noble and elegant, has splendid views of the city from some of the rooms. Wooden details predominate in Castilian style furniture. Space and light are the common denominators of the rooms, with its large windows .

There's also the beautiful suite "Torre de la Reina", where you can enjoy the story of a time in a modern building, with living room, dressing room, Jacuzzi and views over the medieval walls, and beyond along with the landscape of "Dos Reynos” (two kingdoms): the plain of Campo Real in the ancient kingdom of Aragon dominates the horizon to enter into the kingdom of Navarra with the Sierra de Leyre, where you can admire the Paso del Oso, Mount Izagaondoa and the peak of Monreal.

The specialities that best represent this area is the roast Aragon lamb, chicken stew, aperitifs and Sea Bank (sample tasting of borage, cardoons and dried salt-cured cod fish ajoarriero). To finish off with the guirlache Peach Calanda cookie.

Places worth visiting are the Castle of Javier (19 km.), the Monastery of Leyre (28 km.), El Roncal, Anso, ValliHecho, Roncisvalle, in addition to the typical festivals like Valentuñana during Easter.
