Parador de Granada

The Alhambra is one of the most important monuments of Islamic architecture and, along with the Great Mosque of Cordoba, is the most prestigious indicator of Muslim presence in Spain.
Spending an evening in the park of the Alhambra, amongst its gardens and fountains, takes you back to a past where once the Cristian and Arab religions mingled together, is absolutely fascinating. This exclusive opportunity is offered by the Parador de Granada, an ex convent built in the XV century on the orders of the Catholic Kings.

The architectural complex of the Alhambra inspires peaceful strolls through the lush gardens, admiring the fountains, walking along the unique and colourful tiled pathways (azulejos), such as the ones found in the famous Corte dei Lions, and the government buildings of Nasridi. A dream of great Moorish exuberance.

Many works of art and furniture are present such as the cloister and the rooms of the Parador. From the comfortable rooms, you can see in great detail the "Torre del Alba", with an elegant lounge and a bedroom in the shape of a watchtower, with windows facing towards the four cardinal points. From here you can enjoy a beautiful view of the lush gardens of Generalife, the Vega of Granada and the spectacular Sierra Nevada (37 km), with the majestic Pico Mulhacén (3480 m) with its ski slopes perfectly in a straight line with the Costa del Sol.

Also in the dining room of the terrace you can admire a magnificent view of the gardens while dining on delicacies such as goat meat, beans with ham, piononos Santa Fe (small cream pastries) and, of course, the typical Andalusiangazpacho.
