Castell d'Emporda Hotel

"Castell d'Empordà” is a 14th-century Gothic jewel with traces of Romanesque architecture. In fact, the oldest document in the castle dates back to 1301.
Framed by the splendid Golden Triangle and the Pyrenees, just half an hour from Girona, the splendid town in the north of Catalonia, it is just minutes from the Mediterranean Sea and its beautiful beaches.

When Albert Diks and Margo Vereijken discovered the ruins of this national monument, they fell in love with the Castle and the charming rural region of Empordà. So they decided to turn it into the magnificent boutique hotel that it is today, a romantic nook where, whether you come for a weekend or a country house holiday, Castell d'Empordà is the ideal place for any special occasion.

The 12-hectare farm is surrounded by an ancient woodland and a splendid olive grove. Today, it is home to 38, top-quality rooms with splendid views of the hilltops, decorated with silks from Indian and furniture from Italy, Morocco and China.

The intense flavors available in our restaurant are the fruit of exquisite Mediterranean cuisine, prepared with products from our own garden. Located in a former wine cellar, the bar is the perfect place to relax while enjoying your favorite wine or a cocktail outdoors.
And the Napoleon Room in the hotel is dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo, with drawings, paintings, maps and a 18 m2 scale representation.
