La Palazzetta del Vescovo

La Palazzetta del Vescovo is a luxurious and fascinating period Relais built in 1763. Once summer residence of the Bishops of Todi, the ancient residence is a short distance from the wonderful town, in a magic place which overlooks one of the most breathtaking panoramas in Umbria.

Set inside an estate of two hectares, the Palazzetta is surrounded by olive trees and rows of vines, with a luxuriant garden full of Mediterranean plants.
The extreme care taken in details, the traditional external architecture in “pietra a vista”, the finish with hand-made terracotta and chestnut wood beams, the warm tones of the colours, the period furniture, the Montefalco fabrics used for the drapes and bed covers, the refined satin bed linen and the luxurious marble bathrooms and mosaics, all make the atmosphere everywhere welcoming and exclusive.

Elegance, comfort and tranquility are the distinctive elements of the seven prestigious bedrooms and two large suites. Each furnished in a different way, offering spacious surroundings at the same time as being intimate and informal, with antique furniture, panoramic views and the most modern comforts and amenities. Lovingly renovated by the present owners, the enchanting Country House blends the original spirit and family warmth of a private residence with numerous nice little touches to make you feel at home.

Among its ‘jewels’ there are the spectacular deck-level swimming pool set in a unique position, dominating the Tiber Valley. La Palazzetta del Vescovo is also an ideal departure point for exploring the most important cities of art, such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Gubbio and the villages of nearby Tuscany. Or the numerous treasures to be discovered nearby, such as Bevagna or Monte Castello di Vibio with the smallest theatre in the world.

On request, the Relais offers individual organized tours with a language guide, visits to the most prestigious wine cellars and olive oil producers with the possibility of tastings, trekking and mountain bike trips with specialized guides or course in the very tasty cuisine of Umbria.
