Chateau de Chissay

Château de Chissay, a historic royal residence, set in the midst of a magnificent 25-acre park, is a stone poem in the heart of the Loire Valley. At the turn of the 16th century the former fortress was built under Charles VII for the chancellor of France, Pierre Bérard. Surrounded by woods and parkland, it is the ideal location for relaxed holidays, and the ideal place from which to discover the marvels of the Loire Valley, the castles of Chambord, Blois, Amboise and Touraine.

Professional service and state-of-the-art facilities blend perfectly with yesteryear’s atmosphere. From the elegant, individually appointed rooms you enjoy glorious views of the park and the lovely countryside, the swimming pool or the Renaissance courtyard. Furnished in 19th century style, the rooms, suites and apartments feature all modern comfort. Bathrooms are decorated with mosaics representing famous people of the French history who marked the different periods of this place.

The dining room La Table du Roy, a Gothic masterpiece with ogival vaults, offers fine French cuisine, based on traditional local fare. Conference facilities provide the perfect venue for business meetings, presentations or corporate events. The splendid, recently restored Room of the Guards hosts up to 200 people in a conference and even 250 at a reception or cocktail. The smaller Louis XIV salon can welcome 40 resp. 70 guests. Both rooms offer excellent working conditions and stunning views of the park and the Cher valley.
The estate and its surroundings also offer a wealth of outdoor activities: heated swimming pool in summer, horseriding, fishing, cycling, hot air ballooning and golf at 15 miles (Cheverny).
