Law Castle

In the 15th century Law Castle, situated just inland from the marvellous Ayrshire coast, was constructed as a wedding gift for Princess Mary, the eldest daughter of James II of Scotland. Six hundred years later and restored to an immaculate standard, it is available for rent as Scotland’s most luxurious and exclusive holiday home – just half an hour ride from Glasgow airports.

What is now the Great Hall with dining table, comfortable sofas and beautiful furniture, once served as a courtroom - and comes complete with a pit prison behind a trap door.
Today you can relax by the log fire crackling in the wide fireplace, overhead are stunning candelabras, while the large windows supply magnificent views of the the gently rolling Scottish countryside. Yet this intimate, quiet haven also features a discreetly hidden 42" Plasma TV with full cinema sound.

A spiral stone staircase connects the five floors with a total of six bedrooms, partly with en-suite, further bathrooms on each floor, another sitting room and the kitchen, featuring modern appliances side by side with medieval ovens. The bedrooms have four poster beds intricately hand carved with quality drapes individually styled, as well as all modern comforts, DVD, CD player, wi fi etc.

From the former guards’ lookout you can enjoy views over the quiet village of West Kilbride towards the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran. Law Castle surroundings offer a wealth of activities: top notch golf courses, among them Turnberry, situated on a magnificent stretch of the Atlantic coastline and unquestionably one of the great resorts of the world. You can also explore the splendid Ayrshire countryside and its picture postcard views, visit marinas and yacht havens, Scotland’s top racing venue at Ayr or Loch Lomond, maybe the world’s most famous Loch.
