Château De Mirambeau

“Château Mirambeau” was reconstructed in Neo-Gothic style in the early 1800’s, over the vaulted foundations, still existing and visible, of a historic medieval fortress built in the 11th century by Arthaud de Mirambel.

This splendid structure was originally known as Mirambellum, in part in honour of its founder, but also precisely for its formidable position (latin: bellum = beautiful), perched gracefully above the banks of the Gironde overlooking the hills of Médoc from one side and the heights of Pons on the other.

Guestrooms are just as breathtaking and luxurious, with antique canopied four-poster beds, warm and inviting furnishings, ornate architectural details, fabrics, panelling, gold-leaf mirrors and authentic works of art adorning the interiors of these stately, regal bedchambers.

Likewise, the public salon and dining quarters, with its award winning gastronomic cuisine and inventive culinary creations, are luxurious and distinctive, designed to deliver the utmost in comfort, quality and refinement.

A short distance away are many notable vineyards in the heart of the countryside to discover or perhaps you choose to bask in the sumptuous well-being and massage centre, complete with hammam, sauna and Jacuzzi, right on the grounds of this phenomenal classic French château.
