Baglio Santacroce

Situated on a little high ground on the slopes of Erice, and not far from the town, the Baglio S. Croce hotel dominates a magnificent panorama of the Gulf of Cornino and Mount Cofano.

The old rural structure which is the hotel today, dates back to 1637 and was built on this site by the Barons Battiata in order that the curatolo (overseer of the workers) could keep his eyes on all the farmlands.

About a hundred years ago, the building was occupied by bandits and brigands who took refuge in an ancient well which was only recently discovered during restoration work.

Owned by the Cusenza family, the Baglio is now a refined hotel in which its rural style characterizes the building and furnishings, yet offering the comforts of modern hospitality.

The Olympic-size swimming pool and the restaurant make the Baglio a destination for lovers of good cuisine and tranquillity.
