La Maison Bleue

“La Maison Bleue” is an exceptional Moroccan palace found in the heart of the mysterious medina of Fes, jewel of the Arab world, built in 1915 as the family manor of the eminent Sidi Mohammed El Abbadi, illustrious judge and astrologer of the day.

This spectacular palace opened its magnificent doors to the world revealing fascinating blue zellij mosaics, exquisitely carved cedar doors, original stained glass windows and elaborate wrought iron details, stucco cornices and intricate Moroccan furnishings.

Crossing the elegant entrance, one finds a long corridor that leads provocatively to a traditional Moroccan courtyard surrounded by three striking, spacious salons, extravagantly filled with brocaded divans and plush treatments in rich vibrant oriental colours. Likewise the voluminous library filled with riveting oil paintings and a treasure trove of ancient Moroccan manuscripts, books and letters in native calligraphy to keep the enthralled guest spellbound for hours.

During the languid Moroccan evenings, feast on fanciful subtly-spiced, aromatic dishes, served in the candlelit salon by traditional pantaloon and babouches laden waiters ready to realize your every wish just as one would imagine in this wondrous and mystical land.
