“Relais della Rovere”, magnificent renaissance villa in a panoramic position, was built in the 15th century by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere, who later became pope with the name Pope Giulio II, and who became famous as patron of the arts, among whom Michelangelo and Raffaello stand out. The residence came about after the renovation of a Benedictine abbey from the 9th century, radically transforming its former and austere state.
A green park with splendid swimming pool, from which a spectacular panorama of Colle di Val d’Elsa and the countryside in the heart of Tuscany, is the setting of the enchanting Relais.
The elegant suites, furnished in a refined way with high-quality furniture and colours, have every comfort, as also the congress centre which has all the latest technical equipment.
The cloister inside the centre of the Relais is an ideal place to sip a refreshing aperitif whilst relaxing, while the welcoming restaurant in the converted salons is an irresistible invitation for those lovers of Tuscany cuisine.
Due to its central position, the Relais della Rovere is the ideal point of departure for discovering the magnificent artistic Tuscan patrimony, whose vestiges are found everywhere, encircled by fascinating countryside or hidden among the walls of ancient villages and towns.
