Craig y Nos Castle

Craig-y-Nos Castle nestles in the lovely Upper Swansea Valley in South Wales. Its story began in 1840, when Captain Rice Davies Powell decided to build an early Victorian country house alongside the River Tawe.
In 1878, the estate and its setting captivated the celebrated, Italian origin opera diva Adelina Patti who during her lifetime became one of the world’s most famous entertainers. The castle soon reflected the glittering years to follow, when leading international figures including Prince Henry of Battenburg and the Crown Prince of Sweden came to stay.
