These two splendid buildings are situated in one of the most beautiful places on the island of Ortigia, an enchanting place which has been declared “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO.
Magnificent and imposing, situated in front of Porto Grande (Great Harbour), Des Etrangers Hotel & SPA, connected by a low building, directly overlook Passeggio Adorno and to the side, overlook the great belvedere and the Aretusa Fountain.
The complex has five floors and stretches towards the nearby Cathedral Square with irregular shape, due to the ancient design of the medieval city.

The style and design recall the town’s splendour at the beginning of the 20th century, with that typical Neo-classic Sicilian taste, balconies decorated with wrought-iron work and stone columns, a large imposing doorway and, inside the hotel, high-quality marble flooring, walls and ceilings enriched with plasterwork and gold-leaf friezes. The faces of Zeus, Medusa, Gelone and Arethusa, illuminated by an antique bronze chandelier, welcome arriving visitors.

Almost all the bedrooms overlook the harbour, while the restaurant, on the top floor, has a breathtaking panorama: views over the roofs of Ortigia, above the calm shining sea, the bell tower, face-to-face with the sun setting.
On the ground floor, a large congress salon with natural light holding over 330 people, a reception salon with sea view and a luxurious wellbeing centre, complete the range of facilities of this prestigious hotel.

The exclusive Aretusa Spa & Wellness with an indoor Jacuzzi, is conceived to ensure the privacy of its guests. No fees required to wellness trail like emotional showers, sauna, Turkish Bath, cloud-bed, ice machine. Moreover with fees, our guests can pamper themselves enjoying the Aromatic facial and body rituals or trying a large variety of massages, as Swedish, Californian, Oriental, Shiatsu and couple massage.

Our staff is also available for aesthetic treatments. In the relaxing area herbal teas and an assortment of infusions are served. The Des Etrangers Hotel & Spa is furnished also of a Fitness Centre with modern Technogym equipment and machines provided of tv monitor and usb connection. Personal trainer on request. The entrance to the Wellness and Fitness Centre is free of charge for all our guests.
