Fernie Castle

“Fernie Castle” is ideally situated in 17 acres of blissful woodlands, complete with its own loch and just a short drive to major urban centres such as Edinburgh, Perth and Glasgow.

The existence of this superb manor was first recorded in 1353, as belonging to the Earl of Fife. The “Barony of Fernie” held its duties of Forester of Falkland and Constable of Cupar, guarding as it were the Falkland Palace nearby, home of Mary Queen of Scotland in the 16th century.

The Castle today has an enviable position, in a magical “Robin Hood”-like setting, complete with its own spectacular “Treehouse Suite”, unique in its kind, for the venturesome traveller who wants that once in a lifetime experience.

This enchanting wooden pile-dwelling, secluded amidst the sycamore trees on the grounds of the Castle, features a beautiful double door stained glass entrance, a huge king-size elm bed and all the creature comforts of the luxury Castle’s bedchambers.

Be sure not to miss the 16th century Keep Bar, with its warm and inviting atmosphere framed by the vaulted stone walls.
