“Kincardine Castle” is one of those rare places that inspire not only by the grandeur of its structure and outlying gardens and woodland, but by the spirit and enthusiasm of the property owners and beloved friends of this Castle.
A superb example of Scotland’s finest Victorian Castles, nestled in 3000 acres of an impressive family estate, filled with incredible natural fauna and flora nurtured by the respect and sensitivity generations past have lovingly shown for their little corner of paradise in the rich Scottish landscape.
This respect and love for the estate permeates throughout the Castle, fondly run by its extremely charismatic owners, Andrew and Nicola Bradford, without whom Kincardine would simply be another Castle hotel, grand but lacking in that final element, a true human touch and genuine hospitality.
It must be stressed that Kincardine Castle is not an hotel. It is an exclusive use venue and therefore only suitable for groups of six people or more (max 26 people).
The public rooms are grand and furnished with wonderful antiques from the 17th to 19th centuries. On the walls hang fine paintings with many family portraits covering the last 400 years of the family’s history along with other works of art from the early 16th century onwards.
The bedrooms are all individually furnished mostly with antiques and most definitely don’t have televisions, mini-bars or trouser presses. Guests help themselves from the drinks table.
All guests comment on the homely atmosphere of the castle, the wit and charm of the hosts and which, combined with modern facilities, make it an extraordinarily unique destination.
