Rufflets Country House Hotel

“Rufflets Country House Hotel” was built in 1924 as the private home of Lady Anne Byrdon Gilroy, widow of a prominent Dundee Baron.

This turreted mansion house was later purchased and managed by three generations of the Cook and Meldrum families respectively, who believed in their dream of converting the quiet elegant house into a country hotel, then unheard of and considered quite the risk.

Their vision and dedication however paid off.

Today it is recognised as one of the oldest, established St Andrew hotels and one of the very first country house hotels in all of Scotland.

Guestrooms come in all different shapes and sizes, lovingly styled and accessorised, some with romantic four poster beds or relaxing whirlpool spa baths.
For families or larger groups, Rufflets also offers charming and spacious, serviced or self-catering, lodge accommodations.

The dining experience is equally first-class, making full use of Scotland’s natural larder, their very own seasonal garden produce and locally grown ingredients for an exceptional array of culinary delights, all prepared in a light, modern Scottish flavour.
