“Castle Hotel”, originally known as Sandston, was home to the Dukes of Gordon during the 18th century. Subsequently refurbished to its original splendour and extended with stone from the ruins of the Huntly Castle, it was then renamed the Huntly Lodge.
The estate was later used as a refuge and hospital during World War II by the British Army and sold following the war into private ownership thus becoming the Castle Hotel.
The excellent food and comfort enjoyed by Dukes of Gordon past, are still enjoyed by royalty today, most notably His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales, during his visit in 1994.
The Castle offers demure, elegantly designed and furnished rooms, both pleasing and soothing to the discerning guest.
All bedchambers offer exceptional views of its bucolic surroundings, and all are complimented by spacious Italian tiled bathrooms, fine accessories and all modern amenities.
On its grounds can be found a fine gourmet restaurant and a renowned lounge bar dedicated to the region’s famous Whisky producing tradition, namely the Distillery Bar, for your evening cocktails and entertainment.
