St. Cristina Castle is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, between mount Amiata and Lake Bolsena, close to Grotte di Castro in the province of Viterbo.
The origins of the castle date back to the 17th century and the village, recently restructured, has comfortable apartments created from the still intact ancient structure.
Among the castle’s past guests is an illustrious prelate: Cardinal Prospero Caterini, Pope Pio IX’s advisor who transformed the estate into his family’s summer residence in 1848.
Eight splendid apartments were created after restoration of buildings below and most have furniture coming from the castle.
St. Cristina Castle is a perfect location both for weddings, especially outside amongst the luxuriant secular trees of the park, and for congresses.
Some of the castle’s rooms are equipped for reunions and business meetings. There are many outdoor activities around the castle: swimming, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and equitation.
