“Château de Villequier”, the present-day edifice with its impressive ‘dovecote’ entrance and pink brick and stone façade, was completed in the 18th century, though the existence of the Villequier domain and lands date back to the 11th century, as archival records demonstrate, then belonging to the ‘seigneurs’ or ‘feudal lords’.
This prestigious estate is ideally positioned half way between Rouen, capital city of Normandy and final resting place of Joan of Arc, and Le Havre, on the grounds of some 7000 breathtaking acres of gardens and parklands, majestically poised overlooking the Seine Valley.
Following the sauntering Seine River, guests can also visit the Victor Hugo Museum, a moving tribute to the celebrated works of the renowned writer, or they ramble along to the charming seaside town of Fécamp for a refreshing dip in the sea and relaxing moments on the beach.
Accommodations at the Château are charming and airy, with lovely balconies and terraces overlooking the many splendid views offered by the castle’s panorama, from the natural pristine beauty of the Seine valley and beyond, to the immense Brotonne Forest.
