Relais del Lago

“Relais del Lago”, ten minutes from the fine town of Lucca and central to Pisa, Montecatini, the sea at Versilia and the Apuane Alps, began from the wish to recuperate an original 17th century aristocratic house, set among the Lucca hills and on the ‘wine route’, bordered by olive groves and vineyards, historical villas and residences and parish churches.

At the same time as using traditional materials of Tuscan countryside homes, the renovation was aimed at the preservation of its ancient characteristics, combining different elements such as the warm amber colour of the walls, terracotta, rustic wood ceilings, contemporary paintings and craftsman materials, to create an environment with a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

The bedrooms, in pastel hues and furnished with antiques and all modern comforts, are situated in the main building, together with the dining room and lounge with fireplace and piano. Of the same quality and with refined touches of elegance, the apartments are situated in the converted farm buildings next to the house and offer various alternatives.

Outside, flowers and aromatic plants surround the enchanting sunny courtyard while the green park, bordered by cypress trees and centuries-old olive trees, invites you to have a stroll in the small vineyard, the wood and suggestive lake, an oasis of peace and tranquillity.
