Hotel Endsleigh sits within the Tamar Valley, the dividing point between Devon and Cornwall. The Hotel is a 200 year old lodge originally built by the Duke of Bedford and has extensive gardens which were designed by Humphry Repton. In splendid rural isolation the only sounds you hear are birdsong and leaves rustling in the breeze.
Endsleigh is a 15 minute drive from Tavistock which is a lovely market town enjoying many independent shops as well as a thriving farmers market, art market and pannier market. The wild expanses of Dartmoor are also on our doorstep.
Endsleigh has 16 rooms including the thatched Lodge which sits at the top of our mile-long drive. Many of the rooms have sweeping views of the garden and the river below and two rooms have original hand-painted wallpaper which adds to the sense of history. There are 3 suites which can accommodate families comfortably and the Lodge even has its own private garden.
The restaurant is set within the Duke’s dining room and is an intimate setting especially when candle-lit at night. The house also has some smaller rooms which are available for private dining and in good weather you can dine al fresco, on the terrace looking down into the valley as the sun sets. Special dietary requirements are catered for with prior warning.
