The history of San Gaudenzio Castle is linked to viscounts and the destiny of Pavia.
The original 15th century structure has been handed down the generations by the Beccaria, Taverna and Trotti families.
Inside the Castle/manor House, there are beautiful fireplaces of red and black marble, furniture, paintings and decorations which recall to mind the period between 1550 and 1700. Next to the Castle/Manor House is the ancient parish church dedicated to St. Gaudenzio.
Though recent, the garden-park has significant 17th century characteristics. Furnished with taste, the bedrooms reveal how the old goes perfectly well with the new, the past with the present, taste with functionality/services.
The restaurant, once a place of delight for a privileged few, has become a meeting-place for everyone wanting to enjoy the subtle fascination of the Oltrepò Pavese countryside.
