Hotel Flora

Hotel Flora is near St.Mark’s Square, in the heart of Venice – in via XXII Marzo, one of the most elegant streets of the city. In a 17th century building, Hotel Flora was a School of Pictorial Art in the past, attended by great Venetian artists. Right next to the hotel is the Contarini Fasan building which, according to legend, was the residence of Desdemona, the protagonist of Shakespeare’s “Othello”.

Today, the Flora is a hotel full of atmosphere, tranquillity and comfort. The cooling shade of the laurel tree in summer, the romantic autumn atmosphere of the American vine and the profusion of spring flowers all make this a little oasis of peace a stone’s throw from the centre of Venice.

All the intimate yet light bedrooms of Hotel Flora are different and have been furnished with great attention by the Romanelli family. Period furniture from the end of the 19th century or furnishings in 18th century Venetian style, give discrete elegance enhanced by the damask upholstery and golden cornices.

Among the amenities at the hotel are the bar and garden, privileged places to relax after a day’s work or relaxation in Venice.

In the oval salon, among the warm fabrics of the walls and velvet furnishings, the barman, Vinicio, takes care of you, with a wide variety of choices which include a vast selection of afternoon teas and infusions, a wine list exclusively with the region’s wine labels, the best whiskies and spirits.
