Hotel Posta is situated in the heart of ancient Reggio Emilia and is in Piazza Prampolini, not far from the Romanesque Cathedral and the Municipal Building (with its Flag Room where the Italian flag was created in 1797).
Hotel Posta is in The Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo (“The Mayor’s House”), a medieval building with five centuries of hotel tradition.
After being the residence of the Town Mayor in 1200 and residence of Sigismondo d’Este in 1400, it was converted into a hotel in 1515 with the fascinating name of “Locanda del Cappello Rosso” (Post House of the Red Hat).
Hotel Posta is run by the owner’s family whose aim is to make guests feel as though they are at home.
The hotel has: a lift; internal garage; laundry; safes; bar; large salon with al fresco painting, a capacity of 100 with independent entrance and some smaller rooms for private meetings – all with modern facilities such as audio-visual equipment, air-conditioning, telephone and WiFi internet connection.
