Hotel Luz Del Mar

The Hotel Luz de Mar is located in the north part of the island of Tenerife, also called, the island of "eternal spring", specifically in the town of Los Silos, located in the lower region of the island, also called "The secret of Tenerife" and surrounded by the slopes of Mount Teno. The town of Los Silos area was formerly a region of cereal production. The Gonzalianes family settled in these lands and were the economic engine for the town in its beginnings, as they came to have four sugar mills, one of them, operated by the family Gonzalianes.

The town of Los Silos has about 4,200 inhabitants and is situated at the foot of the Teno Macizo, known for having the cleanest air of the island. In the center of town is the Plaza de la Luz, where you can find small bars, restaurants and shops that invite guests to stroll through the town.

Los Silos along with the towns of Garachico, Buenavista and El Tanque form the region called Isla Baja, a place of beautiful natural landscapes.

In the town of Los Silos you can visit the Ex-Convent of San Sebastian, La Casona of Trujillo and the gothic Church of Our Lady of La Luz. In the early sixteenth century there was only a chapel in the town, and locals decided to build a church dedicated to Our Lady of Light.

The name of Los Silos appears for the first time in 1509. The history of this town begins after the conquest of the island.

Another building of interest in Los Silos is the Convent of San Sebastian, founded in 1649 by Bernardine nuns.
