El Sueño de Virila

The Sueño de Virila Hotel, is a country hotel located in the small medieval town of Sos del Rey Catolico, in Zaragoza, Province of Aragon.

Sos del Rey Catolico is a place that invites you to stroll around the cobblestone streets and visit the town’s historical buildings, such as the Palacio de Sada, the church and the castle, where you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of the mountains.

The name of this town has it’s own history, like everything that surrounds the El Sueño de Virila Hotel. In 1452, during the War of Navarre, Queen Juana Enriquez travels to this town called "Sos" at the time, there she gives birth to the infant Fernando, who later became King Ferdinand. The birth of Fernando changes the name of the town from "Sos" to "Sos del Rey Catolico". Later in 1711 this town was named capital of the Five Towns.

All historical architectural remains are very well preserved, and the town has been declared of Historical and Cultural Interest in 1968. The magnificent conservation of the urban area will take you back to old times, specially with it’s fortress thick walls, it’s churches, the Plaza de la Villa and the Sada Palace, where Ferdinand was born in 1452.
The Sueño de Virila offers guests a library, beautiful gardens and a terrace, ideal for those who seek tranquility and historical culture.

The hotel’s roofs are made of old wood, and it’s floors and walls are made of stone, the hotel has a mix of antique and modern furniture, with designs from Mies van der Rohe, Philip Starck, Eileen Gray,Bertoia, Castiglione, Morrison, achieving a good balance between the old and the new.

Some of the rooms have a private terrace allowing guests to enjoy the incredible sunsets overlooking the gardens.
