The Boutique Hotel Palacio de la Serna, formerly known as Casa Grande, is an eighteenth century farmhouse that has been converted into a modern hotel in 2009.

The Palacio de la Serna is located in Cuidad Real, in the city of Almagro one of the great jewels of Spain carrying an amazing heritage. The city of Almagro progressed under the rule of the Order of Calatrava.

The Corral de la Comedia is located in the Plaza Mayor, and is the only example of this early theater architecture that remains in the world, reason why it has been declared a National Monument.
The first human settlement in Almagro was during the Bronze Age, signs around the Casas Maestrales and remote areas outside the city center have been found. During Roman times it is believed that the city was inhabited, according to the testimony of Galiano and Ortega, who thought he saw an aqueduct during the construction of the current Paseo de la Estacion and even old coins were found in the area.
