The Boutique Hotel Palacio de la Serna, formerly known as Casa Grande, is an eighteenth century farmhouse that has been converted into a modern hotel in 2009.

The first human settlement in Almagro was during the Bronze Age, signs around the Casas Maestrales and remote areas outside the city center have been found. During Roman times it is believed that the city was inhabited, according to the testimony of Galiano and Ortega, who thought he saw an aqueduct during the construction of the current Paseo de la Estacion and even old coins were found in the area.
