Hotel Velada Burgos

The Hotel Palacio de los Velada en Burgos, is located on Calle Fernan Gonzalez on the Camino de Santiago. It is an original Seventeenth century house, former residence of Count Berberana, formerly known by the city of Burgos as "La Casona", or the "Count’s House".

The construction of this house was ordered by Manuel Rodriguez Delgado Francisco Gil de Salamanca, Count of Berberana in 1789, when King Charles IV signed the Royal Charter of elevation and ennobling. The façade’s stone is dated 1794.

The hotel’s location will allow you to visit the famous Cathedral of Burgos, that is considered the third largest cathedral in Spain. This is a Gothic building with German, French and Dutch influence in its architecture. Inside the Cathedral you watch the famous Papamoscas, that moves when it gives the hours.

You can also visit the Monastery of Las Huelgas Reales, a convent founded by Alfonso VIII in 1187. Also the Castle with spectacular views of the old walls that surrounded the city, or the House of Gordon, a fifteenth century palace facade which represents the Cord that the monks of the Franciscan order use around their waist, this is where the Catholic Kings received Colombus when he returned from his second trip to America in 1497.

The Solar del Cid is a monument built in honor of the Cid Campeador, and was built in the same place where the noble hero’s house used to be.

This beautiful and well located hotel Palacio de los Velada, will allow you to enjoy the city of Burgos, after having rested in its elegant rooms and having enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.
