Regarding the Cathedral, it is unclear when construction began, there are two theories, one stated by Alvar Garcia who says that construction began in 1091, on the remains of the church of San Salvador, when it was nearly destroyed by Muslim attacks, others believe that its construction began in the twelfth century, coinciding with the Castilian repopulation carried out by Raymond of Burgundy.

The Convent of Santa Teresa, was built where the Saint was born. The chapel is decorated with old paintins with scenes showing the Saint’s power of levitation.
