The Posada Real La Montañesa is a building built in the 17TH century and has a privileged location.
The town where the hotel is located has a rich architectural and religious heritage, and greatly preservs the ancient taste of the stately Cantabria.
Everything is of touristic interest, while enjoying the history that vibrates in their lands, in particular, the famous Cantabrian Wars (Cantabrians against the Roman legions). Routes lead through the paths of the natural park of Saja Besaya.
In the main hotel portico is what formerly was the fourth of the Pilgrim (one of the humanitarian traditions of las posadas was to accommodate the pilgrims who made the Camino de Santiago). On the top floor, you can see a beautiful balcony of carved chestnut wood, done by the craftsmen of the area.
The hotel is located 15 minutes away from the famous caves of Altamira, the beaches of Suances, the Abra del Pas golf course, the Ontaneda natural spa. Also at 30 minutes from the caves of el Soplao, the city of Santander, the Palace of Marques and Gaudi in Comillas, Santoña and just an hour from Castrourdiales, the Guggenheim Museum, Juliobriga (Roman settlement), Covadonga Lakes, etc.
The rehabilitation of this traditional mountain Manor House with more than 250 years of history, has allowed to adapt it to the new times without losing it's personality and offering fully equipped rooms.
