The Hotel San Roque is a manor house built in the 18th century by a descendant of the Genoese Cristóbal of Ponte, founder of the town and port of Garachico.
The tower was an important port lookout and route of trade between America and Europe. The Carayon family began its restoration in 1992 and converted the building into the current Hotel San Roque.
The building has been catalogued as a historic building, and rigorously respects its original architecture, which is very sober and elegant, and preserves a look at the past history of Garachico, with a good mix of tradition and history, adding on to it, an innovative spirit through the incorporation of contemporary aesthetics.
