Castello di Montegufoni

The Castello di Montegufoni, dating from the twelfth century and restored in 1600 by the noble Acciaioli family is situated in the Chianti region, near Florence, in an ideal position to reach Arezzo, Pisa, San Gimignano and Siena.

There are only few regions in the world where human labor is so harmoniously melt with nature as in Tuscany, especially in the countryside with its concept of "civil nature", already expressed by primitive painters and also by the Tuscan Renaissance artists.

Visiting Florence you can admire the works of the great Renaissance artists, but here, in the Tuscan countryside, guests can discover the exciting, sentimental atmosphere in which they grew up. The Castello di Montegufoni is located on a large estate comprising vineyards and olive groves and it is run by the Posarelli family .

Behind the imposing façade, the central courtyard gives a strong sense of primitive austerity, but soon guests will be impressed by the halls illuminated by big sunny windows and by the beautiful gardens that lead to the amazing eighteenth-century hall with its sophisticated atmosphere.

The Castello di Montegufoni offers several apartments within its walls, very spacious and each differently furnished, in order to meet the clients' tastes. There are also dependance apartments located at a very short distance, which have been renovated and turned into charming apartments.

The property has an excellent restaurant serving typical Tuscan cuisine. Guests can also benefit from a large terraced garden with garden furniture and enjoy the beautiful Italian gardens of the eighteenth century with lemon trees and a nice swimming-pool. The Castle is also a marvellous scenery for weddings and special events.
