Sextantio Le Grotte Della Civita

Situated in Matera, in the "Sassi" district, a Unesco World Heritage site since 1993, the "Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita" started as a recovery project of ancient caves, some of exceptional size, all located in the most ancient part of the "Sassi di Matera", the "Civita".

All rooms have been renovated in full respect of the local cultural heritage. Each of the 18 rooms represents a special form with unique and original materials, as well as stone floors. Furniture is deliberately m inimalist, chosen to revive the atmosphere of ancient times and history.

Guests are welcomed into the room with fresh fruit and they will enjoy a spectacular view from the room terraces, overlooking the historic "Sassi di Matera" and the Murgia National Park.

Breakfast is served in a deconsecrated church, using only natural products from local producers, while the restaurant offers the typical Lucania cuisine, an excellent rediscovery of the ancient and original flavors.
