Castelletto di Montebenichi

“Castelletto di Montebenichi” dates back to the 12th century and is situated on a hill in the centre of Valdambra, half-way between Arezzo and Siena in the south-east of Chianti. Set in an area of high-quality works of art, the castle itself houses unique collections, which have belonged to the proprietors’ family for centuries: archaeological artefacts, period frescoes, Greek, Roman and Etruscan terracotta, and an enchanting ‘quadreria’ of paintings and designs of various eras on show in the library.

A fascinating place, rich in sculptures, bronzes and majolica which surround guests in a fairy-tale and unforgettable environment of past times.
Adjacent to the castle is a large private park which blends with the rolling green Tuscan hills and surrounds the panoramic swimming pool of the elegant hotel.

According to the motto “ passion for hospitality and love for detail”, the owners of Montebenichi Castle offer bedrooms and suites, each one with its own personality, in which the modern furnishings blend with period pieces, creating a unique and suggestive effect.

The welcoming gallery on the first floor hosts the breakfast room, while excellent traditional Tuscan cuisine can be enjoyed in the village not far from the Castelletto. Along the white Chianti roads which wind through woods and vineyards, there are numerous farms, making wine, olive oil and other typical products, which invite you to taste their products.
