Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo is a very ancient house which was once a private aristocratic residence. The property offers its guest a unique hospitality in its comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms.
The hotel is situated in the centre of historical Florence, just few steps away from the Cathedral, the shopping area and the most important monuments and museums. The ancient buildings where Palazzo Niccolini was subsequently erected hosted the workshops of some of the most celebrated Florentine artists, among them the famous sculptor Donatello (1386-1466), who is commemorated by a bust and an inscription on the façade of the Palazzo looking on the Cathedral.
The Palazzo was originally built by the Naldinis, an important family of Florentine merchants, bankers and valorous soldiers. In 1532, Giovanni Naldini started purchasing the houses in this area and began transforming these into what became the Palazzo. Over the following centuries, the mansion acquired its present aspect.
Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo has been completely renovated but it still maintains the original atmosphere of its past history. The hotel rooms are spacious and they dispose of elegant frescoes. All rooms have “en suite” bathrooms and the whole residence is air-conditioned.
The present owners, Filippo and Ginevra Niccolini di Camugliano, have paid great attention to the renovation works of the building in order to offer their guests a top quality service and hospitality.
Palazzo Niccolini al Duomo still reflects the prestigious style of an ancient and historical aristocratic palace where clients will enjoy their stay surrounded by a magical atmosphere and great comfort.
