Historical “Castle Aichberg” is set amongst vineyards and fruit orchards, at Appiano, on the Wine Route. Towards the end of the 16th century, the Leys family transformed the historic manor farm into a splendid estate in the local architectonic style of Überetsch. In 1613, the family obtained a noble title and a few years later on the castle got its name of Aichberg. Today, the enchanting residence is the property of the Counts Khuen von Blasi.
Each one of the 12 bedrooms, suites and apartments has modern comforts and is furnished in an individual and warm manner. Similarly pleasant are the medieval salon in the tower and a bar which satisfies everyone’s desires.
The day at Aichberg castle is spent by relaxing moments that give you balance and remove stress. Swimming pool, sauna and solarium are there for pure relaxation and wellness and the park around the castle is in a wonderful position among woods and fruit orchards, inviting you to go for a walk…
In the area around “Castle Aica”, you can really feel the surrounding nature and choose amongst the mountain, the lake, the golf courses and tennis courts – in short, amongst everything that makes it the heart of a dynamic tourist destination.
In spring, you can immerse yourselves in the magic of the fruit orchards in bud with a bicycle ride or a walk; in summer, you can satisfy your whims with climbing, paragliding, windsurfing and sailing in the nearby town of Caldaro or sunbathe beside the Montiggler Seen lakes, concluding the afternoon with a game of bowls in good company. In winter, you can choose from among the most well-known ski resorts of Alto Adige, the ice-rink or the Mendelpass mountain pass of Appiano, an ideal place for tobogganing.
Never a boring moment, thanks to the numerous festivals organized in the town, in the meadows or in the woods, such as the festival of the wine cellars of Girlan, the harvest festival and grape-harvest or the South Tyrol music gala, which completes the pleasant programme of entertainment.
