Fattoria Castelvecchi

Surrounded by the silence of the Chianti hills, strategically situated between Florence and Siena, the “Fattoria Castelvecchi” has been created by converting an ancient fortified ‘borgo’village of medieval origins. Today, the holiday farm has 70 beds in double rooms and apartments (that have every modern comfort, some even having a fireplace), both in villas and in the typical houses around the courtyard, a panoramic swimming pool, a tennis court and footpaths among the vineyards and woods for walks and excursions.

For two, four or six people, the apartments that are in either the master’s villa or in the rustic houses surrounding the square, all have linen, tableware, crockery, cutlery and all other items necessary for guests to enjoy full autonomy and independence (independent telephone, individual heating). This charming residence is a typical Tuscan farmhouse, on various levels and with large rooms, all with fireplace. The building materials are also typical: hand-made terracotta, stone, and ancient, original wooden beams and rafters from the same place.

The furnishing is in “arte povera” style together with original 19th century pieces, prints and furnishings that enhance the environment and create a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Run by staff with over twenty years of prize-winning experience, the restaurant is in the ancient, converted stone olive-press mill that was in use until 1996. The cuisine is local, based on products available on the farm or characteristic of the area, accompanied by an excellent and well-chosen selection of wines. The blend of brick arches and wooden beams contribute in making the surroundings warm and convivial.

The outdoor panoramic swimming pool invites you to enjoy relaxation, and for tennis enthusiasts, Castelvecchi makes its tartan tennis court available to guests free; however, balls and rackets should be brought along by guests themselves.
