Parador de Trujillo

In the monumental city of Trujillo, birth place of the famous “conquistadores” like Francisco Pizarro and Francisco de Orellana, rises this magnificent hotel in the ex-convent of Santa Clara, that has preserved the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere that comes from the convent of the XVI century.

Located only 50 km from Cáceres, the provincial capital, Trujillo boasts a Plaza Mayor (main square), which is among one of the most beautiful in Spain, many noble homes and extraordinary remains of the city's historic walls. Inside the Parador, there are two splendid cloisters, one of which is in the Renaissance style, with arches and columns where there's a bar-coffee shop.

Ideal for relaxing, work or pleasure, the Parador has large, quiet and pleasant rooms where wood, dark blue and soft pastels predominate.

The dishes served in the restaurant are truly delicious: tomato soup with cumin, scrambled eggs with truffles, fillet of veal retinto, Torta del Casar, grilled cheese, and above all, cold cuts and Iberian ham. Not to mention homemade ice cream, cream cheese, or visit the international Cheese exhibit late April or early May.
Art, culture and nature buffs must see: the famous monastery of Guadalupe, the Monfragüe Natural Park (35 km), sightseeing tours in a vintage car with or without a guide.
