Parador de Sigüenza

The Parador de Sigüenza-Castle dominates the city from its highest part. It preserves the historic heritage of this ancient Church and University Center in the region of La Mancha, one of the most important cathedrals of Spain.

The Parador is an ancient Arab fortress, built on Roman foundations. The medieval castle was built in 1123 and was the residence of archbishops, cardinals and kings.

Located in the northern province of Guadalajara, well connected with Madrid and Saragoza it is the ideal place where to enjoy a historic village with the wonderful cathedral and arches of Plaza Mayor, close to some of the most beautiful natural areas.

The traditional hotel has Castilian style furniture, the spacious and comfortable rooms all have canopy beds and terrace. Inside the hotel itself there are majestic halls, ideal for meetings and parties, and a Romanesque chapel.
Inside its thick walls there's the patio, the prestigious dining room, where guests can try the menu of local dishes: fried eggs and bacon, oven baked suckling kid, cod fish, Manchego cheese and desserts. All made with the best ingredients of the area and season.

Cultural destinations in the surrounding area include Medinaceli (20 km) with Roman arch, Atienza (31 km) with the Caballada festival, and the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Huerta (70 km).
